A total station rarely fails all at once. It drifts, and every shot carries the error until someone finds it in the field. We calibrate Leica total stations at our Boise service center, with a Leica-authorized repair technician on the bench, and return every instrument with a calibration certificate. Starting at $795.

Two rules cover almost every case.
Once a year
Schedule it annually, even if nothing seems wrong. Drift is gradual, and a yearly calibration catches it before it shows up as rework.
After a drop or damage
If the instrument has been dropped, knocked over on its tripod or damaged in transit, have it checked before it goes back to work.
When the numbers stop closing
If shots stop checking against known control, do not wait for the annual date. Send it in.
Why it matters
Errors compound
A small angular error grows with distance. On layout, it becomes anchor bolts, sleeves and embeds in the wrong place, found after the concrete is poured.
A record you can show
The calibration certificate documents when the instrument was checked. When a project asks for proof, you have it.
One bench for the whole fleet
The same service center calibrates our own rental fleet. Every rental unit is recertified after every return.
How it works
Send it or bring it in
Tell us the model and serial number. Ship the instrument to us or bring it to our Boise service center.
Calibration
The instrument is checked and adjusted on our bench. If it needs repair as well, see our repair and calibration services.
Certificate and return
The instrument comes back with its calibration certificate, shipped with tracking.
